4Search is meant for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13, and a child under 13 should not send personal information through the site. This page summarizes what the Children's Privacy Notice and the Terms of Use say, and what a parent or guardian can do.

#What the policies say

  • Age. The Terms of Use say you must be at least 13 years old to use the site. Someone who has not reached legal adulthood where they live should use it only with a parent or guardian's involvement and permission.
  • No personal information from under-13s. The notice says a child under 13 must not submit personal information through the site, and that 4Search does not knowingly collect it without legally sufficient authorization.
  • No account. Ordinary search does not need one.
  • No profiles. According to the notice, the application records limited operational request and search-cache data for security, abuse prevention, diagnostics and service operation, but does not create browser fingerprints or individual advertising profiles.
  • Optional things stay off. AI-assisted answers and advertising are separate and disabled by default. On a site that shows Google ads, those ads are non-personalized unless a visitor allows personalized advertising.
  • Forms ask for little. The public forms request only what is reasonably needed to respond, and tell people not to send unnecessary sensitive information.

Search results link to other websites that 4Search does not control. The Terms of Use say results may be incomplete, outdated or inaccurate, and that you are responsible for judging the content you open.

#What a parent or guardian can do

  • Check the privacy choices in the child's browser. Open the privacy panel and keep AI-assisted answers and Advertising off. Selecting Reject non-essential does both.
  • Keep Saved preferences off, so lists and places are not kept in that browser. See Saved preferences.
  • Ask for access or deletion. A parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 submitted personal information can use the Privacy Request Form, choose Deletion and say that the request concerns a child. 4Search takes reasonable steps to verify the adult's identity and authority.

See Make a privacy request for the steps.

#If the audience changes

The notice says that if 4Internet intentionally offers a service directed to children, or learns that child information is being collected in a way subject to special legal rules, it will give the required notice and get legally sufficient parental authorization before collecting it.
